Resumo:
This article presents the SmartFC web platform, a tool aimed at teachers, which supports the implementation of the flipped classroom model even in conditions of low or no connectivity. This proposal introduce the use of open educational resources but also proposes a learning activity to be designed or reused by each teacher under the flipped classroom model, in addition to propitiating the creation of more participative and collaborative classes.

COVID-19 has affected education worldwide, in Mexico. In this study, the impact of the extraordinary online modality because of the pandemic on the accreditation of courses for engineering students was evaluated, of the 64 students officially registered in three courses of microbiology, only 90% registered on the Moodle platform to take the online course, 71% of the dynamics were delivered, 67% of the final project and 80% of the delivery of the team’s activities were not reached, there was an approval of 54%. Some problems were that videoconferences were not attended and assignments were not turned in.

This Special Issue has focused on the subject of the development of graduation skills in computer professionals applied in the 5.0 society in the Ibero-American region, mainly considering the work in Projects of multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary training in the teaching processes of engineers and application of new technologies in Society 5.0. The Special Issue includes eight articles that cover a wide range of topics of this area, including graduate skills in Society 5.0, evaluation of the graduate skills of engineers, curricular innovations in the training of engineers for Society 5.0, new paradigms in the teaching of engineering toward Society 5.0, and application of new technologies in Society 5.0.

Resumo:
The development of industry 4.0 requires the existence of a workforce with technical skills associated with the new technologies on which it is based, as well as with personal skills that allow them to adapt to the changing work environment. Those competencies can be developed on young people, as a new workforce that joins this market, or with veteran workers who need to be updated to continue current. Several actors are involved, from educational institutions to industry and government. The various international models of skills development in workers focus on tripartite collaboration schemes and the establishment of official standards. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze and describe the existing contextual conditions in Mexico for the development and certification of competencies in Industry 4.0. This study is qualitative and uses document analysis techniques to collect information that is relevant to identify the main elements currently existing. As a result, it is observed the need to strengthen collaboration schemes, as well as to provide the existing national certification system of greater relevance in the worker placement processes. Correspondingly, apprenticeship programs are presented as a field that has not been explored sufficiently within the country context.

Resumo:
This paper examines the challenges posed by the penetration of disruptive information technologies (IT) in society, and the need to use them in favor of providing a better life to its citizens, as the center of the concept of Society 5.0. Furthermore, we describe an effort undertaken in Mexico to define referential curricular models for IT programs based on competencies, so that guidance is provided to educational institutions about what needs to be considered to successfully design curricula, and address the challenges of today’s work environment.

Resumo:
Class diagrams may be used as learning resources for the generation of software engineers’ competencies. However, when they are open learning resources, they could lack information about the quality they contain. It may represent a drawback in the generation of the competencies since defects included in them can hinder the learning objective that generates the competencies. This work reviews 109 open class diagrams to identify the most common defects; it also analyzes some related work to identify what are the quality attributes that must exist in class diagrams and the metrics used to evaluate them. The review of the class diagrams is performed based on the attributes and values proposed in the related works. As a result, 15 defects and their frequency in Class Diagrams were identified. In addition, four Class Diagram cases are presented and explained according to the evaluation of the quality attributes.

Resumo:
The speed at which technologies evolve means that society needs to increase the adaptability of its production processes, increasing their agility and effectiveness. Japan, as a pioneer of this proposal, launched Society 5.0, focused on the use of technologies to solve social and economic problems. One of the largest sectors with influence on the economy and that stands out for its constant changes, is the software development industry. This article presents a didactic guide that allows the adoption of good development practices, strengthening soft and technical skills through a process of continuous evaluation in students within systems engineering programs. The guide consists of the definition of an architectural model for the construction of a REST API, the definition of a preventive quality model based on DevOps, the configuration of the model and evaluation of application of the model in a course. The implementation of this guide improves the competitiveness of students in relation to their professional profile, providing the industry with better trained people with the potential to improve current software development processes.

Resumo:
Society 5.0 redefines the paradigms with which training in the field of engineering has been carried out, this leads to a social approach within a field considered technological. This approach should be transferred to the training process of students, which is why the Telecommunications Engineering program at UNED needs an evaluation of the incorporation of competencies related to Society 5.0 in its training process. Thus, this research aims to determine qualitatively whether this approach has been incorporated or not. The method proposed the search for information in literature, review of the study plans and survey to the program’s graduates. Thus, through the analysis of the three elements, it is determined that the program has taken its initial steps and indirectly includes competencies in its teaching process, but there are still gaps to fill to reach an explicit scope.

Resumo:
Programming education goes through the transition from the content model to the learning outcomes model and the integration of technology, where automatic assessment tools allow students to support them in practice; This makes learning inclusive by proposing a transversal approach so that the necessary programming skills are achieved. In this sense, this paper presents a strategy that evaluates the source code and analyzes it using software metrics to identify students’ learning results in a programming course. A strategy was developed that integrates an automatic source code evaluation tool, which allowed us to identify How an evaluation-based approach supports the learning process, time, and impact in a computer programming course? The results show that the strategy helps the transition from a programming course to a learning outcomes model and reduces the evaluation time without affecting students’ grades, compared to the traditional way. Finally, it is essential to highlight that the development of strategies that integrate tools that support the teaching-learning and evaluation process in programming courses has a positive impact on academic training and decision-making, seeking to improve students’ weaknesses through the analysis of the outcomes obtained.

This article presents a systematic review to determine the guidelines that allow the construction of an architecture based on emerging IoT technologies, artificial intelligence techniques, monitoring and storage of malicious traffic, in order to safeguard information, given that there are security flaws in IoT devices, which are intercepted by malicious systems that perform unwanted actions without the consent of the user, causing damage and theft of data, that is why three phases were established to carry out: in the first phase an exhaustive search of information was carried out in specialized databases, where they are selected and classified for the development of the guidelines, in the second phase the information collected was identified and analyzed to define an appropriate algorithm for the study, emerging technologies and key components of the cybersecurity system and finally in the third phase defined the necessary and pertinent guidelines for the struction of an architecture based on emerging technologies.
